Beskany “Beck” Trifulnaré is ready for her first solo mission through the portal to Earth. It’s a simple mission, exchange correspondence with the Vargen team in Boston. Her biggest worry is posing as a proper Earth lady from 1919. When an explosion darkens the sky and floods the neighborhood, Beck’s biggest challenge becomes surviving the sticky flood and making it home before the portal closes.
